The previous organizing committee, which previously sublet the rights to hold the event to the owner, took over the city of Guayaquil thanks to each of its comforts and beauty, its infrastructure and its geographical location, in addition to the already disappeared modeling agency "Ecuador Models" had its operations on this same site, so the decision was the best.

That year only some categories were held, Mini Miss, Teen, Miss and Mister, achieving the titles: Venezuela Mini Miss America International, Guatemala Teen America International, Mexico Miss America International and Brazil Mister America International.
The event was developed in several stages, which are already the traditional ones and in that edition the stage of the most versatile work team was held.
By acquiring the name and brand rights, the Antonio Castro modeling agency removed the sublease to Ecuador Models, and the headquarters were moved to Mexico, the current host country.
